Napanood nyo ba ba ang The Dark Knight? I was able to watch it with a few friends couple of Fridays ago. Dahil sa first week of showing — hirap makakuha ng good seat sa sinehan – yun bang dead center of the cinema and medyo likod. Pero just the same – call us fortunate as we still manage to snag a set middle of the cinema – sa left side nga lang. Not the best place — but not so bad either.
Okidoks?
Anyway – ulit — balik tayo sa Dark Knight – ulit — I would suggest to those who have not seen it yet to go see it. Sabi nga – it’s a must see. Sobrang nagandahan ako sa pelikula na ito. This is Heath Ledger’s last movie before he died — and all I can say is that he ended it with a bang. Sobrang galing talaga niya sa pelikula na ito. Ibang klase ang atake niya sa role as the Joker. Jack Nicholson was wonderful as the Joker in one of the old Batman movies —– but Heath Ledger was ten times more. His portrayal is worthy of an Oscar nomination.. and possibly a win. He was so good na dapat — the movie title should be changed to Joker with the Dark Knight. He definitely stole the limelight from Christian Bale. By the middle of the movie – I no longer see Ledger playing Joker. I only see and loathed Joker. That’s how effective he is.
Christian Bale for me is the best Batman so far. I liked his subtle arrogance – yung mga simpleng clenching of the jaw or pagtinging-tingin. His eyes effectively convey the pain and dilemma of being Batman.
What’s good about the movie is that they were able to humanize the characters. They where able to show who Joker really is – a villain who is doing all these terrible things just for the pure fun of it. Joker saying “You complete me!” is just plain genius. Goodbye Tom Cruise — hello Heath Ledger. Two-face may have been overshadowed by Joker in the movie – but his back-story is well written as well. Nakakaawa rin si Batman with his constant predicament on whether he’s doing the right thing or not. I also loved the film’s take on the innate goodness of human beings. The movie was able to show complex emotions minus the cliches.
If I need to say something bad about the movie — nitpicking na lang kung baga – it would be casting Maggie Gylenhall. She’s not bad actually. Nga lang – I do believe na there are other actresses who can play the part better.
After watching the movie – sobrang exhausted ako. I felt consumed by the film. Parang kasama akong tumatalon-talon at tumatakbo-takbo ni Batman. Hay. What a film. I so loved this film that I wanted everyone to see it. Kung hindi nyo pa ito napapanood — stop whatever it is you are doing and go to the cinema nearest you. Go watch this movie. O… ano pa hinihintay mo.. go.. watch. Wag nang makulit. Makuha kayo sa tingin!
